I have many treasured, childhood memories of the tantalising aromas of generous home cooking and preserving that epitomised love in action.
When I close my eyes I can still see my self-reliant gran Mabel, Angelina the Italian nonna of our first shared house, and the many multicultural neighbours who enriched my life with the warmth of their kitchens.
Meals were for connecting, feasting and celebration. Food was nourishing and wholesome, seasonal and regional. But most of all food was for sharing. We shared family meals, abundant harvests, seeds and starters, recipes and traditions. And we shared wisdom that nurtured my life.
So, now it’s my turn to share this small collection of recipes and tips. I hope you’ll find something that inspires you to also create delicious moments that become treasured memories.
