People living in urban areas around the Toowoomba region will be amongst the first to experience the new City Farmer program, an exciting workshop series offering people who are interested in growing an abundant edible garden in their own backyard the opportunity to become a city farmer.

Workshops will have a very hands-on approach and deliver the basics of permaculture and horticulture to people living in metro environments who want to grow their own fresh produce in backyards, or as part of a community garden network.

Participants will gain practical skills, listen to expert guest speakers and attend exclusive guided tours of operational farms in the local Toowoomba region.

QATC supports the ever expanding food sustainability movement, through the City Farmer program initiative and recognises the fact that most people who want to grow their own food live on smaller blocks of land, often in cities, suburbs and towns.
